Has it been considered to implement federation with other servers over TCP port 5269 as described in RFC3920 and RFC3921? These RFCs describe the XMPP protocol which provides a mechanism for users on different servers to exchange message with each other.rnrnFor a short time, AIM has this implemented server-side to allow communication with people using Google Talk.rnrnFor the purpose of this project, I don't think the C2S part of XMPP is that interesting to implement, but an implementation of the S2S part would be very interesting!!
