I have a few ideas and suggestions.

I think that Authentication to the two OSCAR services, (AIM and Yahoo) should be backended by LDAP and Kerberos. All authentication should be uniform and one account should cover everything. This can be done using Samba 4 in Active Directory mode, or old school OpenLDAP and Heimdal.

The point is, your Credentials for AIM, should work for Yahoo too.

You should add XMPP as an option for XMPP users.

Yahoo users, and AIM users should be able to freely and transparently communicate along with XMPP users. Spectrum2 can be used for this if Required.
