"Failed to connect to Proxy Server" message HELP

Help, I downloaded AIM 6.2 and entered my screen name and password and when I tried to sign in the "failed to connect to proxy server" appeared and gave me the option to change host and port (which i do not know how to do and auto configure option does not work).
