Can't join public chatrooms

I'm running version 5.0 on Windows 10.
I try to launch the chatrooms with the software,
then it gives me an error.
"Sorry, AIM (R) could not join room.
Please try again later."
I'm going to wait until tomorrow(it's currently 12:30 AM, I'm not going to wait much longer to see if it'll work),
but I was looking at other posts on the forums and saw other people had this issue as well from awhile ago,
so is there something I can do to fix this?
Or is it just a wait-it-out kind of thing?

If you can't accept the fact that I'm the best, then you're one of the worst.

it happens sometimes, and when the chatrooms are working nobody uses them anyway

My screen name is the same as my username

Same here. I've tried on both windows 10 and windows xp.
I suspect it's a latency problem because I've left the window open and 20 minutes later I was in the chat.

I can do this on client 5.0, so to recreate it just don't close the Modal Window aka "Sorry, count not join room"

btw, this is CkM on another test account.

I suspect that it's been disabled. The invite never makes it to the recipient.
