Hooowwww exactly do I use this bloomin' thing?

I'm completely new to AIM, and even though I did grow up with things like Windows XP, I've never gotten to use AIM (And boy do I wanna, seriously this was a godsend to me when I found this).

Mostly the things I want to know is how to add people, how to chat, and how to join chatrooms (If that's even possible)

I definitely did, and it does not have anything that I want to know XD

I'm just asking for some help on actually navigating AIM itself, not for connecting to the server (Which I already did)
