Cannot connect to service

Greetings. I previously posted about this problem; however, no one responded with information leading to resolution of the problem. I'm using AIM 4.1 for Mac with ResEdit modification on a PowerBook G3 Pismo 500MHz, 640MB RAM, 20GB HD.

Whenever I try to connect, I get this message: "Your session with the AOL Instant Messenger (SM) service has unexpectedly shut down." I'm not sure why this is happening.
