I cant use 5x

if downloaded 5.1 it worked perfectly than the next day i wanted to chat with my buddys it wont show in my taskbar or i would see a window the only thing where it showed up was in the task manager with like 2mb ram usage.
i tried reinstalling and installing 5.9 but the same thing happend again im on 4.something rn but i really wanna get back to 5.1.
